Katunga/Nathalia Branch Information Night, February 2, 2008
Dairy Australia and Wespac Agribusiness sponsored a free dinner for members, where they heard the latest news from Dairy Australia, Westpac as well as an update on water issues from Richard Anderson (Chairman VFF Water Council) and dairy issues from Doug Chant (UDV President).
DC 3 Awarded Moira Shire's Event of the Year Award, January 2008
As part of Moira Shire's Australia Day Awards, DC 3 was awarded 'Event of the Year' for organising their Katunga family night. The night provided family entertainment including music and children's activities. Local drought support agencies and services were also in attendance.
Meeting with Water Minister, Tim Holding, January 24, 2008
The Executive of District Council 3 met with Water Minister, Tim Holding on Januray 24 2008.
Issues discussed included the National Plan for Water Security, the Foodbowl Project, carryover and the Northern Region Sustainable Water Strategy Discussion Paper. In regards to the Foodbowl project DC 3 discussed their dissapointment that the State Government had not adopted the Steering Committee's recommendation to fund the headwork's charges for environmental water.

DC 3 Christmas Dinner, December 7, 2007
DC members enjoyed a great night out at the Nathalia Courthouse Motel for their Christmas Dinner. The DC farewelled the Grillo family as they recently sold their dairy farm. Fil was an active member of the DC and was presented a UDV Certificate of Appreciation for his efforts over the years.
Each family recieved a Christmas Showbag prepared by Phyllis Broadwood. A special thank you to Phyllis for her efforts.

Sustainable Farm Families Program, December 6-7, 2007
Members from the Nathalia region of DC 3 were involved in a Sustainable Farm Family Program being conducted by the Nathalia Hospital over two years. Farmers recieved a health check and learnt about a number of health issues over the two days.

Katandra/Invergorden Branch Dinner Cruise, November 22, 2007
Members from the Katandra/Invergorden branch enjoyed an evening cruise around Lake Mulwala as well as a tasty Christmas Dinner.

The launch of the website was a huge success with over 30 farmers, milk company representatives and other dairy industry stakeholders present.
Allan Burgess, President of Australian Dairy farmers launched the site and noted the strong future of the dairy industry across Northern Victoria.

Rural Women's Luncheon - October 15, 2007
DC 3 member, Phyllis Broadwood arranged an enjoyable luncheon for rural women in the region at the Waaia pub.
Close to 100 women attended and they were entertained by the delightful voic of Dianne Daniel and Ann and Lindsay Jarvis who took the group on a journey through Egypt. Both Lindsay and Ann dressed in traditional costume.
Thanks to the following sponsors; Heather Morgan, Murray Goulburn, The Weekly Times, Moira Shire, United Dairy Farmers of Victoria, Hamon Pharmacy, Leanne's Hairdressing and Tegan At Nathalia, as a result of these sponsors generosity, each lady took home a complimentary gift. Thank you also to Barry, Pat and staff for a lovely lunch and great hospitality.
The day was funded by a grant from the Federal Government Drought Relief, administered by the Country Women's Association and conducted under the auspices of the United Dairy Farmers of Victoria D.C.3 member Phyllis Broadwood.

Joint District Council Drought Taskforce - September 2007
DC 1, 2 and 3 formed a drought taskforce in September to discuss drought issues affecting the dairy industry across Northern Victoria.

The group developed a drought submission that was forwarded to the Premier, Minister for Water and Minister for Agriculture. A number of the taskforce's requests were supported by the State Government in their recent drought announcements.
DC 3 Bovine Birthday Bash - August 4, 2007
DC 3 arranged a great night for farmers and their families to celebrate their cow's birthday with cheese tasting and a dance.
